Bring on the Gestapo!

Well does anyone else feel like they are seeing events unfold like some kind of pre-WWII German news feed?  Still confused?  I am talking about the White House blog asking for people to report fishy opposition to the health care plan.  The blog states they want to fight disinformation, and that may be true, but the way they intend to do it is so far away from our path of liberty it is like something out of Nazi Germany.  Yeah, I said it, our current White House administration is starting to remind me of Nazis.  Who else asks their citizens to report on other citizens if no crime is involved?  Oh, maybe communist Russia, or red China, BUT NOT HERE!  Disinformation or not, anyone, saying anything, has the right to say it without fear of their government!  You see, there is this nice little thing called the Constitution, and it says almost exactly that.  That is why there is a law against the government collecting information about individuals that have committed no crime, or are exercising their rights protected under the constitution.

“(7) maintain no record describing how any individual exercises rights guaranteed by the First Amendment unless expressly authorized by statute or by the individual about whom the record is maintained or unless pertinent to and within the scope of an authorized law enforcement activity;”

What can you do?  Well, you can send email to flag@whitehouse.gov in the form of:  Copies of the First Amendment, Copies of the Health Care bill (because they don’t seem to have read it), or anything else you think would interest them.  What should you not do?  Well that is obvious, do not cater to this strong-arm tactic.  Americans do not violate the rights of others for the government!  WE ARE THE PEOPLE, THEY WORK FOR US!  Remind them of that.

  1. I sent in my own response to their email. You know what is sad, it took me awhile to hit the send button, with my name and location at the bottom. Going through my mind was all the possibilities that could happen, from the IRS suddenly taking an interest in me, to some ‘jack-booted’ secret service pounding on my door in the middle of the night. In the end I just reminded myself, I have done nothing wrong, and I hit send.

    “Dear Gestapo,

I would like to report something fishy. The government asking citizens to report on each other about what they say. Did you know that was illegal? I guess not. The government has no business collecting information on people who are only exercising their rights protected under the constitution. As a citizen of this country, a tax-payer, and a voter, I demand that you rescind your request for information. I demand that you apologize to the American people for even thinking of violating our rights. You work for us! WE THE PEOPLE demand that you start remembering that. You want some fishy disinformation, how about the President saying opponents of his health care plan want to keep the status quo? That is a blatant lie directed at his opponents to make them look bad. Everyone wants reform, some of us just don’t want European style, socialist health care. I demand that he fix his lies, he must stop compounding the conflict in this country by playing that game. He knows that people don’t want to keep it exactly the same, but he continues to lie about his opposition.

    Your Boss,
    Trever Bierschbach
    Pekin, Illinois”
